Hospitality

Cox’s Bazar Resort Grounds

Salt-tolerant planting, villa gardens and an arrival allée.

Challenge

Salt air, sandy soil and a masterplan that had copied a tropical look from elsewhere.

Design

A resort language built from species that accept wind and salt, with denser courtyard planting where guests sit and a lighter dune edge that does not fight the beach.

Result

Arrival photographs now match the site. Villa gardens need less replacement after the first monsoon.
